This tower made up of luxury homes in Taipei paints the landscape on the banks of Tamsui River green. It is a layer of technological green that appeals to sustainability from materiality, management, and maintenance. With this project, we use bioarchitecture to create a green building, which allows us to feel reconnected to nature while living in an urban environment. Psychologists relate green to freshness, harmony, and relaxation. The design of this building wants to transmit an emotion of well-being and health to its inhabitants and all its surroundings.
Project Description
In Taipei, a 39-story tower is being planned for luxury homes in an urban transformation area facing the Tamsui River. As well as reducing the environmental impact of the intervention and improving the quality of life of citizens, the green of the building aims to create an emotional connection between the end user and the building. Its facade, a large structural mesh, allows all rooms to be connected to the outside through a large glass surface. Each floor is edged with a green stripe, which helps to distance the user from the constructed limit, thus providing a greater sense of security.
Functional Program
Various uses are arranged within the 150 m high tower’s interior: We find a large access hall on the ground floor which serves the entire building, a residential club on the following three floors, as well as three types of housing on the fourth to the 35th floor. As of level 36 (129.70 m), we find a gym, a pool, and a restaurant within the community area.
Environmental Benefits
Positive emotions are sparked by unique designs: physical and visual well-being and comfort with sustainable materials are factors that actively contribute to the health of the occupants and the flexible usability of the designed spaces. Through these types of projects, we aim to re-naturalize cities in order to encourage a healthy ecosystem by reconnecting people with nature. Our experts in urban bio-construction and water resource management and optimization assist us in this endeavor.
