Our project Torre el Rengle in CONSTRUCCIÓN INDUSTRIALIZADA, a magazine published by Interempresas Media. It focuses its debate on the rise of offsite or industrialised construction. For its eighth version, ON-A participated talking about their design for one of the most iconic buildings in the city of Mataró, the Torre el Rengle project, a disruptive proposal ‘playing’ with architecture, based on industrialised elements.
ON-A accepted the great challenge proposed by the Sorigué group to design a mixed residential building that would also be an architectural landmark in Mataró. In this coastal town in the province of Barcelona, a new way of building was chosen, not only based on the architectural volumes, but also through a new philosophy that allows all the building information to be stored in a single three-dimensional model, centralising all the information on a single platform. This BIM methodology has been applied throughout the entire process, from drafting to construction.
In order to guarantee the sustainability of the building, we opted for the use of materials that guarantee the energy and acoustic efficiency of the building and for the connection to an urban cooling/heating network (Tub Verd). This system contributes to the promotion of renewable energies, but also seeks energy efficiency, improving the performance of the energy resources available in the city.
We dressed the Interempresas Stand with our project Torre el Rengle, in REBUILD 2023 – IFEMA MADRID, the only event considered to boost and promote the change in the construction model of building. A transformation that will be consolidated in the coming years through industrialisation, digitalisation, design, and different solutions in terms of sustainability.
