DRASSANES 2.0, A STATION ON THE WEB

After several months of operation, users on the Web have started to reflect on the reform of the Drassanes metro station. From vivid descriptions of futuristic dyes to comparisons to Star Wars ships, Internet users from across the world have been able to comment on this new project of ON-A.

MAPPING AT THE 5 SENTIDOS LOUNGE BAR

On October was held in the 5 senses lounge bar a mapping on the structure of the project with an audiovisual installation where the projection of lights and images resulted in a truly fascinating spectacle accompanied by the best music.

A video by ON-A will kick off the first of the DUELS that are part of the EME3 COLLAPSE Architecture Festival next Friday, March 20. Entitled "Urban Space/Public Space: Whose Street Is It?" the debate will feature Santiago Cirujeda and Josep Acebillo as confronted speakers and Juan Herreros as agitator.

ON-A IN ARQUIA/PROXIMA 2008

ON-A has been selected to be part of the catalogue ARQUIA/PROXIMA 2008, presented during the architecture forum celebrated in Valencia from 29th to 31th of October. The program ARQUIA/PROXIMA is an initiative of Bank of Architects that aims to disclose the work of the “very young architects”, with fewer than ten years of qualification.

STAND CRICURSA IN GLASSTEC 2008

From 21th to 25th of October in Dusseldorf, you can visit the stand CRICURSA (architectural glass) in the international exhibition GLASSTEC 2008. This stand, designed by ON-A, has previously been showcased in CONSTRUMAT ’07 and VETECO ’08. Now it can be found in this exhibition, where CRICURSA will present the latest developments of its products.

‘PATENT CONSTRUCTIONS’ IN STOCKHOLM

A new exhibition opened in Arkitekturmuseet in Stockholm; “Patent Constructions: New Catalonian Architecture”. It shows a sample of 35 projects in Catalonia, in which there has been significant Catalonian industry involved. Among the selected are: the 5 Senses Lounge bar and the Stand of Cricursa.

‘A lounge bar between channels like a bone cell’ this is the title of the article about the 5 senses lounge bar in Empuriabrava. An analysis of the project where it is highlighted that ‘ON-A to solve the configuration of the premises has developed a three-dimensional steel mesh that adapts to the existing building and generates the spaces required by the program’.
