On May 23, ON-A participated in the NAN Sustainability Space, held in Madrid’s Torre de Cristal. This event brought together more than one hundred leading architecture professionals to discuss and share innovative strategies on sustainability and energy efficiency. The day focused on how architectural practices can evolve to meet today’s environmental challenges and goals.
Our co-founder, Eduardo Gutiérrez, shared his experiences on the implementation of sustainable practices in architecture during a round table discussion. He was joined by Jesús Gallego, CEO of ADORAS Atelier Arquitectura, and Guillermo Horneros, CEO of PAEE Construcción Passivhaus-ECCN. The round table was moderated by Lorena Remacha, communications consultant at NAN Arquitectura.
Eduardo Gutiérrez highlighted the importance of energy awareness and the new European regulations. Jesús Gallego reflected on ‘ecological cynicism’ and the need to create durable and aesthetic architecture. Guillermo Hornero underlined the relevance of industrialisation and process engineering to reduce the environmental footprint of buildings. The panel concluded with a consensus on the urgency of adapting architecture to rapid social and environmental changes, promoting denser and more sustainable urban models.
The presentations highlighted, among many other topics, the importance of biodiversity, the use of resources, the integration of renewable energies, the reuse of existing structures and the implementation of advanced technologies to reduce the carbon footprint.
Many thanks to the entire NAN Arquitectura team for giving us the opportunity to participate in the event, and for their dedication and enthusiasm to keep us learning, growing and innovating! It was an honour to share the round table with Jesús Gallego and Guillermo Horneros, and special thanks to Lorena Remacha for leading and moderating our table.
