Located on the seafront in the coastal town of Mataró (half an hour from the capital Barcelona), the Mataró Port Hotel is an aparthotel whose design adapts to the needs of its guests and stands out for its dynamic and elegant aesthetics. Equipped with an excellent location, close to Platja de Ponent and just a few minutes from the port and the city’s train station, it has been designed to take advantage of the privileged views of the place at all times, both from the terraces of the rooms and from the deck.

Facade
The building’s arrangement in its surroundings and the dynamic and modern aesthetics of the facade allude to nautical motifs, reminiscent of a yacht in their unique shape and arrangement. This bold and daring image is achieved through the primary use of industrialised and modular elements. Finally, the integration of LED strips running across the entire volume helps to enhance the dynamism of the composition, giving it presence and visibility in its perception at night.

Rooms and services
Access to the building is on the first floor, where the reception, administration and catering are located. The hotel has a capacity of 150 rooms, spread over a total of six floors and ranging from 20 to 70 m2 to meet all types of guest needs. All rooms are equipped with a complete bathroom and a small office kitchen, and have large terraces overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. On the roof of the building, which looks like a ship, there is a large infinity pool and a skybar (bar and chill-out area). Both the roof space and the balcony terraces of the rooms were designed to make the most of the privileged view of the place: a panoramic view of the fishing village of Mataró with the sea in the background.

Sustainability
In terms of sustainability, the design of the terrace, which extends around the entire perimeter of the building, allows for year-round sunlight. Together with the use of very energy-efficient materials and the connection to a municipal air-conditioning network (the Tub Verd Mataró network), this aparthotel becomes a building with almost zero consumption.
